Security Shade or cargo shade for 07 Tahoe
I am trying to find a security shade for my 07 Tahoe. Wife has been bugging me about it, her truck anyways, anybody have any ideals? ZX?
On another note. I have been reading about all the intake up grades for the last two weeks before I decided to join the forum and I recently installed a true flow XDI (extreme duty intake) by True Flow, someone asked about that earlier in the forums if anyone knew info. Don't ask me if it improves gas mileage, but it sure does improve the "Cool Factor". Also, installed a Autoextreme throttlebody spacer, they do not have a website that I can find, but they are on ebay selling their spacers. I am doing all this for my own "trying it out project".
Whether it increases mileage or not, I won't knowuntilI take a few long trips and spend time driving around town. The reason I purchased these items were to help with throttle response and to move this heavy *** truck.[sm=insomnia.gif]
The XDI system sounds quiet when you are driving normally, but when you put the pedal to the medal, it sounds like a flowmaster system in your
engine compartment. Freaks the other cars out. Next, I will be in search of a performance exhaust. More air in means more air out. I will post a pic later. True Flow convinced me about their foam filters instead of gauge filters. It took alot of thinking and deciding. I have used K & N for years.
I own another truck and I also did some research on other intake systems and bought a modular intake tube for my 2003 silverado from Airaid and a True Flow filter for that. Total cost, $150.00.
I read that most factory airboxes do just as well as the after market airboxes and provide and are designed to have high flow rates. The OEM boxes provide heat and debris shielding like the after market kits. Instead of paying $300.00 to 500.00 retail for after market cold air intake systems with a new air box for your trucks, you can just get the tube and a better filter.
As far as the Tahoe, well, I think the "Cool Factor" played a goodpart, especially when you are showing it off to your friends and neighbors.

Unfortunately the Tahoe doesn't have the depressions in the interior to hook it on. [

At least with the third row seat. Maybe w/o it, it has the mounting/hooking provisions.

I could be wrong but I am almost positive that there are actually mounting places for a rear cargo shade. You would have to remove the 3rd row or at least lay the third row seats down to get any use of it though.
I haven't seen any cargo shades for sale let alone been able to find anyso let me know if any of you find them. Iknow some is bound to sell them, or maybe you can useone from a newer model. In fact (now that I think of it), if you are familiar with cardomain.com, one of the first guys listed in the tahoe section has a rear cargo shade.

You are right. I swore that mine didn't have them but just checked and they're there.
And I checked all my usual suspects and couldn't find any shades.

My LTZ has the provisions for a cargo shade, because you see where the knotches are for one, but you will have to fold down the 3rd row seat to use one. I have gone to the gm accessory zone and everywhere, but still can not find one. Maybe I just need to go to the dealer
and ask if there is one. On ebay they sell them for an 06 model, that I have seen.

Hello everyone. New guy here. Just picked up my Tahoe last night. Besides the NAV not picking up a GPS signal, the truck is everything I thought it would be.
I wanted to add that my LT3 DOES have the notches installed for the security shade, and I wanted to purchase one as well, but I cannot find it on the GM Parts Direct Site, OR Ebay.
I have to go to the dealer today to have him check the GPS, I am going to buy the shade from the dealer, if they have it. If i get one, I will post the part number here.
