My stabiltrak light came on this morning as well as the check engine light, pulled over, I turned off the truck and turned it back on, still was there, pulled off and the truck shifted really HARD, and it had a hard time accelerating. Pulled over and repeated the same procedure, still the same results. Drove home to switch cars. Turned off the tahoe, back out my car from garage, started the tahoe to move it in the garage and the stabiltrack light was gone, but still the check engine light was on and is still on after i got home from work. Probably will bring to advanced auto to have the code checked. Then bring to dealership to have them look at it.

I'm bringing this thread back from like a month ago, just to see if anyone else has an update to this situation. If you have any ideas or suggestions as what to do, I would appreciate it. I'm new to this board but have found this forum very helpful. Thanks to all, and have a great new years!

 

I put my Tahoe back to stock height, and the issues still occured. Recently I took it in again becuase the Service Stablilitrac came on again with the Check engine light. The dealer gave it back to me and said there was a program update they ddi, but got no more out of them in what type of update it was. Its been about 100 miles since I got it back, and not issues have returned yet.

Let us know what your dealer says, oh, also if you have OnStar, call them and they will tell you what the code is and what it might effect.

I just had the same problem @ 9000 miles. The warning came on sitting still in drive with my foot on the brake and went out once I got home. So if I am reading the above posts corectly the dealercan fix this with a software update?

 

I'll bring it in to the dealer. I hope it will be an easy fix like yours was. All these problems I'm starting to have with my Tahoe. I was about to blame the lockpick again! hehe!jk. But I'll be sure to post the findings. Thanks for the help!

 

Typerod - Search for my previous posts about this problem. You did everything I did when I had the problem except opening the door, closing it, locking, then unlocking and starting it back up. Even had a dealer in Kansas check it out when we first had the problem and didn't get a code that told them the exact problem. I don't know how my local dealership fixed it but I have the details of what they did in my posts. Good Luck!

These trucks are "buggy" --I'm sick of trying to get the dealer to fix this crap. No one knows why this happens.

Mine did the same today (for the second time) so i dropped it off at dealer. They said that the codes show that "this would occur when trying to drive while e-brake is on." i havent done that in the two weeks i've owned it. everything else checked okay including brakes and pads. doesn't make sense. i hope this will not continue.

 

So I brought in the Tahoe to get it checked out. So it turns out that there is a service bulletin, claiming that in the right b-pillar there is/are wire/s that are damaged from chaffing from something which can cause the service stabilitrak light to on and the check engine code to come on as well. They did not tell me what code was thrown. I will get the paper work out later to get the bulletin number. I've driven over 300 miles already after the fix, the problem has not popped up since, still not totally eased about the problem being gone, since some on here had a software update to correct the same problem I had. But today when I drove home, I put the suv in reverse the camera came on, and there was an extra message, can't remember the full message, but it was to the effect of, .....camera information not available....the camera worked just fine, but when i went back into drive, the radio got all funky on me, the cd menu wouldnt show up, i turned off the truck back on, still the same. I ejected the cd and then the radio went back to normal. I dont know but I think the lockpick is causing alot of these bugs to show up, ive never had these problems before i installed the lockpick. I emailed coastal again, but they have not responded, its been a few days already. I'm getting a shady feeling about them.

 

There have been many posts about the customer service of Coastal being poor. I personally cant provide feeedback as I have not done any business with them. But you should send me your lockpick and I can tell you if I have any problems!
