Default Shift to Park message

I have a 2016 Chevy Suburban that occasionally pops up a shift to park message. This causes the vehicle to keep power on. Sometimes it will just go away and others it will stay on and deplete the battery.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is a connection issue. I am more curious who else may of had this issue. As most post are for the center console shifter.

Default Found a solution?

I too have a 16 Yukon. We have been getting the same message. But only when we go to actually park. It did it the 1st time n I limped it home. Disconnected everything overnight. Next day no problems. Today it did it again. It's very strange. Power locks kept going off randomly. I feel it's an electrical issue in the column.

It has not done this while driving so that why I don't feel it's a mechanical failure. And i cannot find where any neutral safety switch or park poses sensor anywhere I look.
