Default Some gauges do not work on my tahoe!

I ve got a 05 Tahoe. The temp gauge is pointed all the way to left and doesn't move from that spot, and my tach is pointed up to 6 and doesnt really move from there maybe down to 5 when started. Any suggestions as to what the problems are? And can I fix them myself? Im not a real mechanic by any means but, I do know how to things apart and put them back together. Thanks for the help

HI

I have an 04 silverado. There was a tsb on the guages that allowed a new set of gages if you were under 75k miles. You can also buy a replacement set of guages on ebay and supposedly they are easy to swap out since they are a unit.

If you can't get Chevy to fix it under recall, then the cheapest way to go is to remove the cluster and replace the 6 stepper motors. If you can solder you can do it by yourself. It is not that difficult. You can buy the stepper motors on Ebay for about $25.00.
