Also unplug the vacuum line going into the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any fuel that drips out, if so replace the regulator, this is a common problem that results in slow or no start conditions.

After a week of running on a full tank of gas and 8 of the 16oz bottles of the Chevron Techron Cleaner in the tank, I did notice an improvement in performance and take off, it runs a lot smoother now. Only problem is it still takes 3 or 4 cranks to start in the morning or when the truck has been sitting for a while, so the product didn't help in that area. I will try the Fuel Pressure Regulator next, I know what it looks like but cannot find it in my truck, any suggestions as to where it is?

I'd look at the poppet valves.......poor substitute for a real injector
replace the spider assembly with the new ( should have been used at production) fuel injectors.........upgrade...poppets short out... cleaners don't solve the problem a short in the coil of the poppet can't be cleaned.
Most shorts are intermitent...diaignosed as cat convertor-or trans issue or fuel pump or filter.
Chevy knew of the problem in '98 and kept it secret.....didn't want the recalls under warranty.
That's why the released the poppet to injector upgrade.....
online they are approx. $385.00
