Default Suburban Buying Tips

Hi, I just joined this forum and have been reading up on others experiences

I'm looking to purchase a GMT800 suburban. Budget is 13k or less, hoping to get a 2002 or newer with <100k miles in good condition.

Will not be doing much towing, and don't need 4wd so I'm aiming for 2wd 5.3L.

What sort of features/issues should I specifically look for, or try to avoid? I saw the Autoride suspension mentioned as being expensive to repair - is that something to avoid?

I don't really mind it riding like a truck, I just want something that will be reliable and last a loong time

thanks guys and gals
