Tapping into HVAC for ignition sense 07 Tahoe/Suburban
I need to tap into an ignition wire on the 07 Tahoe, anybody know what the white with black stripe wire in J1 Brown connector on the auto heat/cool controls is ?? it seems like a good place to tap in, it's just for a relay not to pull any power from, it's like 250 ma .
thanks

That wire is in pin #1 of connector C1 (there is no J1 in the HVAC) and is the "Inside Air Temperature Sensor Assembly Control", do not use it.
There are no ignition voltage wires to HVAC control head on C1.
On connector C2 use ORG wire in pin #9 but your draw had better be minimal, if any abnormalities happen disconnect wire.

THANKS, tapped into the orange, works great , even turns on with remote start , by the way where does this wire go to ??
Also , my DRL are on as soon as the car turns on ?? they turn off if the parking lightds or headlights are turned on, but they are only supposed to come on when in drive ?/
thanks for your help

The orange wire is ignition voltage.
Did your DRL's just start doing this?
And are you sure it is your DRL's and not autolamps?

The DRLs started it before I tapped into the orange wire #9, it's the DRLs , they go on as soon as you start your car, if you turn on the parking lights or headlights they shut off as they are supposed to , they shut off when the auto headlights come on, they shut off if I turn the light switch from auto to off , they don't go on if I remote strt the car , only the parking lights come on, as soo as i go in and turn the key they turn on .I tapped in nowhere in the car except for thet orange wire , and a Super lockpick

So I should just leave them like that ? would sitting in a parking lot in the heat with the wife shopping cause the bulbs /housing too hot ? that was my only concern. also how do the DRLs know your in drive vs. park is it a sensor, mechanical switch, relay or computer ??
Thanks

It won't overheat or cause any problem.
And what I should have said was: Don't make a special trip to the dealer to have it repaired.
The DRL's are controlled by the computer (BCM) however there are many components within the system that can cause a fault.
Most likely reprogramming the BCM will straighten this out.
