Default Testing GM Navigation Unit

How do I test a GM Denso Navigation unit without having a GM vehicle to install it to? I just want to make sure it turns on and powers up.

I would assume I have to get 12volts to it. Is there some adapter or plug I can plug into the 120v wall outlet with 12v transformer that makes it 12 volts, or can I get a 12volt car /motorcycle battery and wire it directly to that?

Please let me know in detail. I am not even sure which is the power plug on the back of the nav unit!

Thanks in advance for your help...

you can't test it on the bench.
You need the vehicle data signal to make the radio turn on. There is no 12v switched supply on 95% of gm's vehicles nowadays

Take a look at this auction on eBay. It shows a bench tester for the Nav unit. The item number is 270475965018. Put that number in the search section of ebay.
