Tire Suggestions? Please
Well we just bought the Tahoe, and the tires that are on it are just ok. By no means are they a winter tire. Where we live the snow comes early and stays late. I am looking for a tire that will look like it belongs under the Tahoe, has good traction and good tread depth. We also what something that won't have a problem in the mud. It is hunting season after all.
Suggestions and advice much needed, and will be much appreciated.
thanks-Richard

Bfgoodrich A/T TKOs...i have them and love them...they look agressive, are quiet on the road, and have great traction......some other options would be Nitto Terragrapplers, Toyo Open Country A/T, Bridgestone Revos, and there some others...but i think those are generally some of the best all terrain tires...unless you want an even more agresive tire then that
Hey Gm...could you post a pic of your Tahoe? I am also looking at putting some new tires on my 07 Tahoe. I'd like to "beef it up" with some BF Goodrich All Terrain'sbut heard after 10,000 or so miles they develop a terrible roar.I am a Volunteer Firefighter and run ***** to the wall pretty much everywhereI go.I have the 17" wheels on the LT and have considered upgrading to 20" or so but I'm undecided on that too....thanks.

P.S. Welcome to the forum. Glad to see another FD brother onboard.
I second the 17" or 18" wheels for 4wd. Nothing more embarassing than a fellow 'Hoe stuck in snow and sportin' 20's. On the other hand, if they're driving in the snow and muck with 20's, they kinda deserve being stuck.
id say, it doesnt matter the rim size, but rather the tire you stick on their...i go offroading in mine all the time with 20's and never have any problems...theyve been able to withstand any thing ive thrown at them....the only probably is that theyre more susceptable to be scratched up...1"s of side wall arent going to make the difference in my opinion, and the tread depths are pretty much the same. if you want 20's, go with 20's.
for some reason, this website wont let me post up pics...i always get an error while trying to do so...here a link to my garage on z71tahoe

hey thanks for all the reply's....GM, thats the look I'm going for....man that thing is sweet and same color as mine. How many miles do you have onthe BFG's and do they roar? I have a 4mo old girl and the last thing I want to do is wake her up riding down the road! I love those BBS wheels but they are little more cash than I want to spend. Any suggestions onwheels that might look good with BFG's? Ihave been looking at the Boss 313's but I don't know if they will look good with an off road tire.

I have 18,400 miles on mine, and they are quiet for me...the only time i hear them is slowing down with my windows down and no radio on...so pretty much no they dont roar. For cheaper rims, i would say KMC and American Racing have some pretty good prices on rims, and lots of selection. The only real problem with 20's and a/t tires is the prices you pay for them. My tires ran me $360 a piece, and they were actually more expensive than my rims. If you go to Americanracing.com i know they have an application in which you can see your truck with their rims on them, and the same with tire rack. I bought all my stuff from tirerack, thats probably a good place to start, because they have good prices and their a good reliable company.
