Default Used 2015 Suburban advice

Hi all,
I've been looking for a 2015 Suburban for a while, and wanted to check out reliability issues with them. First, the vibration/'wind noise' problem that some have. Does this issue come up over time, or will it pretty much show itself in the first few thousand miles? I've been looking at used, and it will likely have 35,000 miles + on it. Just wondering if I'll know if the truck is affected with that right away, or is it something that could come up later.
Secondly, I like the features of the LTZ, though surprisingly I've been reading about the magnetic ride control, and there are some that just plain don't like it. Its hard for me to tell too much of a difference between that and the premium ride (a little more forgiving), so reliability of each system is a concern. Is this 'issue' more a preference in ride, or are there major issues in the MRC?

Lastly, I'm beginning to think extended warranty is needed, any suggestions that will cover a lot of the common problems in the vehicles? Any tips on what to inspect?
My ideal vehicle is the 2015 LTZ with the standard 20" wheels. (my current vehicle is the Honda Odyssey...I'm done with minivans!!)
thanks all

I've bought many used cars over the years and never got an extended warranty. If you do your homework, and have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic, you can avoid a lot of hassles. Besides, the anecdotal stories I've heard about extended warranties from friends is that the warranty company will try to weasel out of as many claims as possible. The latest story was a broken power mirror that simply stopped working. Warranty company refused to cover the $800 item because it's considered "trim."

That being said, the AFM system is a big concern, IMHO. That's one of the reasons I still have my '08. Add in the wind noise/vibration/booming issue, and I'm sitting on the sidelines for now. If someone asked me for advice on buying a used Suburban, I'd tell them to look at a '12 or '13 3/4 ton.

On another website I was told by someone recently [who works on the Tahoe/ Suburban assembly line in Texas] to look for a 15 and a half or 16 used Tahoe as he said everything was upgraded on the 15 and a half and up..Plan on getting a late model Tahoe in the next few months.

Thanks. How do you tell a 2015.5? In the door jamb? Can you tell via the VIN code? I'm undecided, maybe a certified LT is a better bet than a low (used) priced LTZ, the low end of the used market for 2015 LTZ's may not be of best quality, and they're low for a reason, right?

He said the dealer would know but I just sent him PM message asking him about the Vin code or some other way to find out..It might take him a few days to get back to me as he is not on there everyday but as soon as I know you will.

My plan is also to get a late model certified LT.

Good info! So sounds like the buffeting issue affects those very early models of the 2015 and that 2016's don't have that issue. Is that pretty accurate?

I just sent him a PM on the buffeting issue.

I recently rented a 16 Suburban and drove it from Miami-Atlanta..I honestly could not find one thing wrong with it..The A/C would have cooled off a 10 room house in 100 degree jungle Miami heat..I hated giving it back to Enterprise..It got the exact same mileage as my 4.6 Crown Vic which was 23 MPG on regular which I thought was awesome.
