What’s this sound?
Thank you guys for taking your time to read my post, I seem to have a little issue (hopefully nothing).
drove my car all day today, no issue, parked it and stayed at home the rest of the day. That night, I decided to go somewhere, started my truck up and I was greeted by this sound. I do the oil changed myself (6 quarts) Fully Synthetic and the best most expensive oil my auto parts shop sells.the thing I was wondering was if this sound was a lifted tick. If it is a lifted tick, does it need to be addressed? Just replaced every component in the coolant system, radiator water pump thermostat etc, so it should not have been caused by overheating. Can I continue driving or should I start tearing the engine apart now lol. I have 164,000 miles on it, and it’s a 2009 Chevrolets Suburban 1500 5.3L V8.
thank you guys so much

let me fix that for you
Does it go away once warm? Are you using the recommended viscosity of oil?
You can try some oil system treatment to see if it helps a bit, but engines just wear out. Especially these AFM ones.

Thank you for fixing my link, I apologize I am new to this thread stuff

Yes I use the correct oil (5W-30), and always check the dip to make sure it has sufficient amount of oil. When I first start it, it can get so loud it almost sounds like rodknock, but when it warms up it’s obvious it’s not due to the sound change.
