white replacement grill bowtie?

RE: white replacement grill bowtie?
I got the front billet emblem off ebay. Just search 2007 tahoe emblem! You do not remove the front grill. It is about a 10 minute job. All you do is take out 6 (i think six) bolts that hold the front grill area to the vehicle. Then you will be able to get your hands in there. You just remove to nuts off the back of the emblem and it slides out, it is also taped so you might have to give a gentle tug. Then the new billet inserts in the same holes and you use provided nuts to attach it!

If you are interested I will take $30 bucks shipped. Like I mentioned, i purchased these bowties thinking I was going to try different painting methods but have decided to stay chrome. PM or email me if you want it for $30 shipped. First come first serve!

Hi,
I ordered a new 2007 Tahoe Front End Grille Emblem. After waiting 3 weeks for it to get in I picked up a used one. When it arrived I told them I didnt need it. Today, I was at the dealership and they still had the part. Being longer than 30 days they said they werent sending it back and I was obligated to pay for it. They did give me a discounted price. I will sell it for what I have in it. $30 shipped if you want it. Please let me know asap as I will list on ebay if one of you guys dont want it to paint around on it or whatever. Thanks, Landon.

RE: white replacement grill bowtie?
Has anyone had any experience with painting a stock bowtie black? Is the chevrolet black a hard color to match? Also, biglg, did the 6bolts used to attach the bowtie come with the new chrome bowtie you bought? Cause i just picked up a set of chrome bowties from my custom auto shop and they didn't give me 6 bolts to attach them with.

Ok, Your a bit confused. There are not bolts that go with the front factory bowtie. There are 6 bolts along the top of your grille area, right by the engine bay that you take out to pull the front grille area out a little bit so you can get your hands in. You dont need any bolts to install the factory bowtie!
As for painting the factory bowtie, it is simple. I painted one of mine white to match my tahoe. It is simple. Just a little prep, some adhesion promotor, paint, then clear coat. If you have any other questions just let me know.

I painted my stock fron bowtie also. My hoe is the dark blue metalic. I have skinny enought hands to get the nuts off the back of the factory bowtiewithout removing the grill. There are 2 10mm nuts that held my bowtie in. I just removed it,taped off the black and trimmed the tape with an x-acto knife sanded the plastic with some scotchbrite sparayed on some plastic adhesion promoter then purchased 1 pint of paint from a paint store and used my airbrush to paint it. Looks alot better than that gold emblem. I had also purchased a "Texas Flag" stick on emblem that goes over the front bowtie but I think I like the matching blue color better right now.

You might want to sand the bow tie first so that the paint has something to grip onto. I painted mine black to match my truck and the first time around it all just dripped off. So, I cleaned it off, sanded it, re-painted and it turned out great.
