Exclamation Brakes and steering GONE!

My brakes and steering in my 2001 Chevy suburban have gone out. I was turning sharp on a snowy road when they quit. I am stranded in the mountains and need help. How could I lose them both at once?
Please help me and my family.

More than likely not. It is possible, but more information is needed. Brake pedal to the floor? Hard to turn, or won't turn at all? Four wheel drive, if so was it engaged?

Power assist is out on both at the same time. Hard to turn but can. Hard to stop but will

I read something about a outlet banjo/solenoid valve sticking and needing to be tapped. Where is it?

If it has hydro-boost assist braking, the power-steering pump powers the brakes and steering assist. If no other engine warning lights are on, the power steering pump pulley shaft may have snapped. If you take the drivebelt off, the pulley would pull out of the pump if the shaft is broken.

My first thought was also the Hydro-boost power brakes. Might be the belt. Did the 2001s have a serpentine belt?
