I love learning new things. Today I learned the harmonic balancer and the crankshaft pulley are two separate
entities pressed together into one unit. The picture below really makes it obvious. Way to go sodafire.

And I learned how to post pics on a forum using my cell phone. Check out the "Yummy" post where I was seeing if I actually could post a pic with my phone. Homemade stuffed hot peppers and meatballs haha.

Heres my homemade "keep it from turning so you can torque it tool". The hose clamps help keep the wood from splitting.

I like your torque tool. I also like your photo. A jpeg is worth 1024 text characters. You did a good thing finding and replacing that faulty pulley when you did. According to the Suzuki forum, not replacing in time can lead to a wobble that will wallow out the key slot in the end of the crankshaft. Once that happens the engine has to be pulled.

Took the ole girl for a test ride after everything was put back in place. Everything looks great, no overheat, no flickering battery light, no stiff steering, and A/C stayed cool. Thanks for liking my "tool". Wasn't sure if a wooden one would work, but it did. Hopefully I'll never need it again. On a side note, I don't know what a "jpeg" is.

A JPEG or (.jpg) is the most common type of digital picture. 1024 is the actual number of bytes in 1k of computer memory. Computer "words" used to be one byte (8 bits) long. It takes 8 bits to represent each text character on the keyboard. That led someone (not me) to reinterpret the expression "a picture is worth a thousand words" for the digital age.

If it's the water pump it's expensive to fix. The pump is inside the engine! I'd found quotes from 1,400 to 3,000! Had a friend who's a certified mechanic who works at a dealership but works at home too. It took three days to do it. He's an excellent mechanic and a perfectionist(which I appreciate in a mechanic), but he was needing to call friends to bounce ideas. His friend told him put it back together and give it back. I guess trackers in general are a b!#ch to work on. My guy wouldn't be bested by the car and fixed it. Runs great! Love my little yellow zr2

You said you have manuals, I see you said "shop manuals". Those are those big ones like in a shop? I've been in search.of a Hayden(I think that's the name brand) for my 2003 Chevrolet tracker zr2. They seem to not make them anymore nor the Suzuki vitara, which is the same car. I've searched eBay and online and no books. I have a pdf of "a" manual(i prefer a book), can't hardly read screens outside. The Hayden books also had pics to go with.
Now, my point...finally, do you know where I could find one? Figured I'd just throw it out here...can't hurt. Thanks
