Default 1998 Tracker Battery Retainer installation

I'm trying to secure my battery. I bought a battery holder and the retainer assembly, but im having trouble figuring out where the hooks go. Can some one help? I have included a picture of the battery compartment that is welded to the frame for reference. Thank you!

Default Solution

The holes on either side of that battery plate? Just insert the poles from the underside and place a nut on the top end to keep it from falling out from the bottom. Hope this helps

Thank you for your response, but which holes? I can't seem to find a hole on the side closest to the car grill and the other hole seems to be to tall for the threads. I can't shut the hood. Can you clarify for me?
Thank you!

Figure out how long it should be and screw nut down below at that level. Take a hacksaw and cut above the nut .Spin the nut off and Bobs your uncle! Just don't cut it too short!

Thank you so much everyone! I contacted the place I purchased the retainer. It in no way fits so I'm just going to return it. The hooks don't really fit in the holes either. They are going to look into their design.

The factory hold-down rods have a 5.3 mm diameter.

Oh that is soooo helpful! Thank you! Are the rods the same length or is one shorter than the other?

The front hold-down is 15 mm shorter.

Check out this illustrated parts breakdown.

Thank you all so much for your help! The one I purchased didn't quite fit. I found a used one from ebay and it worked like a charm!
