Default 2000 tracker dome lights won't go out when doors are closed

I just bought a 2000 tracker for my wife and I noticed that the dome lights won't come on when the doors are open. Now the lights only come on when I turn the dome switch to the middle or to the ON position. I've pushed in all of the door switches in and out with no luck. I have also noticed a couple other things along with this issue. If the dome switch is ON and I turn the ignition off, the dome light goes out. Wtf. Second part to that is I noticed a black wire rigged into one of the fuse slots with a fuse holding it in. When I disconnect the wire, the dome lights go out. Idk why it is hooked up this way. Anyone ever have a situation like this? Thanks, Rafael

Apparently someone ran that black wire to power the dome light rather than taking the time to find the problem with the dome light and repairing it the correct way. They connected the black wire to a switched circuit, that is why it goes out when the key is turned off.

Exactly. So, I'll have to use an ohm meter and dig into the wires. Thx
