> Was it correct to add [a bolt] through the hole under the axle cap?

The threaded hole in the end of the axle should not have bolt in it.

I'm not very strrong so I made a tool to help pull the axle through the spindle to get the snap ring seated.

My tool screws into the hole in the end of the axle.

The axle has to come forward enough to expose the snap ring groove.

You mentioned the snap ring on your axle was missing. I am currently running my front passenger side axle without a snap ring because I have an ongoing problem I have not been able to solve. For some unkown reason my axle is destroying snap rings. I've taken it to several 4WD shops but nobody had a good answer. One place said it was due to the suspension going up and down. I'd like to know if your car starts doing anything like that.

So, I should tell the mechanic to remove the bolts from both sides? I was going to have him check the right side anyway. Thanks again for all the help. -Crikman

The bolts won't hurt anything but they serve no function.

Good to hear about the bolt(s). I was afraid that may have caused part of the problem. Hopefully getting those missing parts and the bearing in the drivers side will correct the issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep you posted. Thanks again. -Crikman

I just got an email from suzukiautomotiveparts.com telling me the parts are on backorder from Japan. They said to allow 10-12 weeks for delivery. I seems doubtful that I'll have the Tracker on the road anytime soon. Bummer. -Crikman

You should try Megazip.net. They might have the parts in stock.

I did look on that site and they would have still come from either Japan or UAE. Suzukiautomotiveparts didn't indicate the weren't in stock. I can only hope that they will arrive sometime before stated. I'll have to tow the Tracker back home or the mechanic will probably want to charge me storage. As it is it's been there for almost a month. -Crikman

Hey thanks for the lead. They have the parts listed, but doesn't state the availability. So earlier today I sent them an email asking if the parts were in stock. I'll let you know what happens. -Crikman
