Default passing wire through firewall 2003 TB

I am trying to get a power cable through the firewall from under the dash behind the brake and I can't find any reference on the web on how to do this. Inside there is a great big rubber gromet but I can't see how to get the wire through. Has anyone ever done this?

Why do you want to run a wire into the engine compartment?

I am installing the brake buddy 3 controller for my TB which I am going to flat tow behind my RV. I need to pass a thick (3/8” 4 wire cable) from the front driver side into the engine to connect to system to the power supply at the battery. It looks like the manufacturer has made a big hole for the brake system but there is nothing there for a clutch. I guess the trailblazer wasn’t offered with a manual transmission. The only thing that I can see is the latch release cable might have room but I can’t see the interior side where it passes through the firewall without taking down the trim that covers the inside. Job for tomorrow.

Wherever you put the wire, make sure you seal it well with silicone seal to keep water out.
