Need to disable the on/off switch for the day time running lights
I'm in the final process of importing a CPO 2012 Traverse from the US into Canada. The only modification I need to have done to get it to Canadian specs is to have the day time running lights always on when the ignition is on.
Luckily the Traverse has DRLs but the problem is there is a switch to allow you to turn them off if you wish.
What I need to do is disable that switch somehow. Does anyone know how to do this or has done it already?
My assumption is that it should be pretty simple, just pulling the right fuse or unplugging the switch it self.
The dealerships service departments solution to this is to replace the entire wiring harness which would run 1000's of dollars and seems to me be trying to swat a mosquito with a sledgehammer.
Any help would be appreciated.
Again my goal here is not to in anyway disable the DRLs themselves, just disrupt the switch's ability to turn them off.
