Oil in Air snorkle. Possible Broken Piston Ring Lands?
I have a 2010 chevy Traverse and I have had a check engine light on for about a year. It is a P0420 code. I changed all O2 snsors changed oil and Air filter. when I opened the Air box I saw oil and sludge built up in the Air snorkle. A GM service tech said that it looked like I had Broken Piston Lands. I cleaned the sludge cleared the codes and a day later different codes. something about rich condition. Anyone have this same problem?
you don't have a broken ring land. The pcv tube freezes and the restriction forces normal blowby into the air intake duct. #PI0746D addresses this concern. the yellow gunk is the result of water and oil mixing.
were the codes one of these P0101, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P1516, P2177, P2178, P2179, P2180, P2187, P2188, P2189 P2190?

No it was P2097 and P0298. and that was after I put in new O2 sensors. Cleaned out all the gunk and then I also cleaned the Throttle butterfly area real good. Now does the PVC tube go across the intake and atach to the #2 bank valve cover? It looks like an orffice of some type.
