No crank No start
Hey I have a 08 Uplander that wil not crank or start. When i turn the key nothing lights up on the dash but the check engine light. After checking a couple different youtube videos i found myself down by the BCM(in drivers side kick panel). Following the harness from the BCM i found an inline connector under the carpet that runs up to the dash harness and firewall. At this connector i found a melted wire with no insulation left on it. When i disconnect this connector my dash lights back up and i can start the vehicle and it runs but all the abs, brake, & traction control lights are on. Im assuming when this connector is connected its taking down the network. I have a wiring diagram but i cant find this connector to find out what circuit is melted? Has anyone seen something like this?
Try to repair this bad wire. cut out the bad piece and replace it with a piece of new wire. if there is more than one wire then do the same for the other one. follow it back to a good piece of wire to make sure you are connecting it to the right one.
