Default Turn signal issues with an '01 Venture

Strange turn signal issues with an '01 Venture. When engaging left turn signal, the rear stop lights--including the hatch-light-- also blink, though not at full current. I've checked bulbs, harnesses, and circuit boards. Harnesses had scarred ground connections--black wire?? Tried a bypass around the harness. No luck.
Not sure where to go from here. Thanks in advance for any help.

The ground side of the lamp sockets are all tied together. An open or significant resistance to the actual ground will cause the turn signal current to flow through the stop lamp, center-mounted lamps, and then onto the ground. I'd think the stop lamp is otherwise inoperative. You'll just have to find a way to provide a good ground on the black wire (run a new wire to a known chassis ground or splice it into another).

The issues is too many loads using the 1 ground wire. Replace the burned socket with a new one and it should all work fine. This is a common issue.

EinST & lexisdad1201--
Good, solid directions. This confirms and explains what I've read elsewhere. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I'll now focus on getting a good ground and report back--in a few days or so.
I appreciate the replies very much. What a terrific resource.

Just haven't had time to work on this since the good replies. Got the lights working well enough to drive safely for now. Need to order parts. Thanks again.
