The 2025 Chevy Blazer EV SS isn’t just a straight line stoplight bruiser – it’s also quite nice to drive in normal conditions, too.

It’s been quite some time since the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV SS was revealed, promising to provide consumers with an all-electric crossover worthy of wearing the iconic SS badge – which has donned plenty of supremely capable performance vehicles over the years. While some might find such a notion to be, well, sacrilegious, we certainly appreciate performance in just about any form, so long as it puts a smile on our faces. Now that the Chevy Blazer EV SS is finally landing on dealer lots, we’re also starting to see reviews pop up, and this new one from Kelley Blue Book confirms that the hopped-up crossover lives up to the expectations.

While we’ve been waiting a full three years for the Chevy Blazer EV SS to arrive, GM did manage to eek out more power than previously expected – its pair of electric motors churn out an impressive 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, 58 more ponies than we were originally promised. One could easily argue that it looks a lot better than the base model as well, sporting some distinct features such as a blacked-out front fascia, a black roof, and 22-inch wheels chiefly among them.

Inside the cabin, the SS features both suede and microfiber on the seating surfaces, which can be had in various colors and nifty stitching, and front ventilated seats are standard as well. All of this is well and good, but what most want to know about the Chevy Blazer EV SS is how it drives. According to KBB, it’s certainly capable in a straight line, doing 0-60 in 3.4 seconds with Wide Open Watts mode activated, which is quite quick for a mid-size SUV of any type.

When one isn’t trying to win the stoplight to stoplight battle, the Blazer EV SS also “drives exceptionally well,” according to our host – “it’s quiet and subdued,” they add, and even with its large wheels, the crossover doesn’t produce any sort of road noise inside the cabin, either. One doesn’t even have to give up much in the way of range to nab this extra performance, as the SS returns 303 miles of range, compared to 334 for the regular RWD LT and RT variants. On top of that, Super Cruise comes standard, which is a $3k+ option on other models.

With a price tag of $61,995 including destination, that makes the Chevy Blazer EV SS seem like a pretty great deal compared to other trims, especially when one starts ticking option boxes. It’s also cheaper than pretty much all of its rivals, save for the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. Thus, for anyone looking for a practical yet also rather quick vehicle suitable for smaller families, the Blazer EV SS certainly looks like a solid choice.
