Originally built to haul race cars, this wild Chevy Silverado 6×6 dually took on a personality of its own.

These days, people aren’t afraid to be different and build vehicles that challenge that status quo, striving to create something that no one else has. This has resulted in some pretty crazy rides, but few can compare to the sheer madness that is this 2004 Chevy Silverado 6×6 dually that’s currently up for sale at Gateway Classic Cars. There’s quite simply a lot here to digest, and by that, we mean someone sunk a ton of money into this pickup trying to make it stand out from the crowd. Needless to say, they accomplished that mission.

This Chevy Silverado 6×6 dually was originally conceived to transport Bonneville speed racers for Spectre Industries out of Ontario, Canada, but wound up making the rounds at a number of big-time shows, including SEMA, Goodguys, and Hot Rod‘s Power Tour, and even scored an appearance in Truckin’ Magazine. Originally finished in two-tone red and champagne, this massive pickup now wears black paint as well as a Cadillac front end and taillights.

This stretched pickup also touts a total of eight tires and four wheels underneath its elongated bed, making it a ten-wheeler like a proper semi-truck. It rolls on equally massive 22-inch Brentz wheels, along with an independent suspension with airbags, which allows the owner to adjust ride height while also riding on a cloud. If all of that wasn’t enough, the gigantic bed is hydraulic and can also be raised or lowered with the push of a button.

If all of that isn’t crazy enough for you, consider what’s under the hood – a 500 cubic-inch V8 that’s been fitted with a pair of Garrett turbochargers. The giant mill cranks out an insane 1,425 horsepower and 1,671 pound-feet of torque, which should be enough to move even this huge, heavy rig down the road with ease. An Allison gearbox handles that power and sends it to the (many) wheels, and is obviously beefy enough to do so without breaking.

Capping off this crazy build is a luxurious interior awash with cream leather and fitted with FAST gauges, a Kenwood touchscreen stereo, auxiliary gauges to monitor what’s going on under the hood, and controls for the air suspension.

Altogether, this Silverado 6×6 is certainly a lot of truck, and it obviously cost a fortune to build. Because of this, the asking price of $65k seems awfully reasonable. But then again, most of us don’t have a garage big enough to contain this beast, let alone the need for something so insanely audacious, though that won’t stop us from wanting it anyway.
