Huge lift kits and massive rolling stock transform this Silverado and Sierra into real show stoppers.

In the old days, trucks were built for one purpose – to work. Automakers didn’t pay much attention to things like ergonomics and legroom. Then, slowly, trucks began to morph into viable transportation alternatives to cars. Today, Americans buy more trucks than cars, and the transformation is complete. Trucks no longer have to serve only one purpose. In fact, they can also make pretty stellar show vehicles, as this killer combo of Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra prove.

Both trucks are creations of Rockin Rods, a custom shop located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They wanted to show off their work, so what better way to do that than by driving YouTuber Salinas Photography down to Tempe, Arizona, and letting him capture them on film? The result is some pretty darn entertaining footage. Not to mention proof that these show-worthy trucks aren’t just trailer queens.

The Sierra sports a massive 9-inch Mcgaughys suspension lift kit. Which, along with the frame, was all powder coated and painted. The huge lift also makes room for equally massive 24×14 American Force wheels and 37×13.50 Fury off-road tires. With a host of engine mods, it’s also fully capable of smoking those massive meats, as we see in the video.

The Silverado is an ’05 Duramax with an incredible 14-inch custom WFO Concept lift kit, giving it a towering stance. Wheels are slightly wider 24×16 inch Fuel Forged FF36s, wrapped in giant 40-inch rubber. Diesel mods include a 150 lift pump, 3-inch turbo pipe, 5-inch exhaust, and S&B intake.

GMC Sierra

Needless to say, this pair of GM pickups now draw a crowd wherever they go. But with the right parts underneath, that doesn’t just have to be at a car show!
