I almost get 5hg if I take the reading from pcv hole on front of tbi without map sensor tube plugged in. It keeps backfiring through tb. I keep reading back through all your great suggestions. I dont understand how it started one time but never again.

Is it cranking the same way as it did in the videos you posted? Where it sounds like it’s trying to start but never actually does? If so it’s possible the reason is the dry cylinders are firing but the wet cylinders aren’t. It may be helpful to test for spark at the wet cylinders to make sure the plugs or wires aren’t having problems.

Not sure on why there’s different vacuum readings depending on the port used - the MAP sensor, brake booster and PCV port are all connected to full manifold vacuum. I’ll have to think on that.

So you just needed to make sure the plug wires were fully seated and it started? Awesome! I’ve forgotten to hook them up several times during diagnosis.

A thin layer of dielectric grease helps them seat on the plugs and cap.

It never would start with all 6 plugs wires on so I was about to pull motor or junk it. So I put restore down each cylinder and only hooked drivers side plug wires back up by accident. Truck started it ran ruff and then when I was going to put valve cover back on realized oh **** lol now with all 6 wires on she runs and much better.

Good deal. I totally understand the relief that comes with a seemingly never-ending project/repair finally has an end in sight. At work I get anxious even when I expect a repair to take an extended amount of time.

Does it respond well to throttle? Any popping or chugging/hesitation?
