I have a 2004 Silverado. For a while now when I brake and turn to the right something is grinding. I thought it was my brake pads or rotors but I've been told those are okay. My ABS light will come on once in a while and go right back off. I don't drive it a lot so I've been putting off taking it in somewhere, but recently it has been shaking when I push the brakes at all.

Any ideas on what could be wrong and how much this is going to cost me?

 

Could be your front wheel hubs.

 

Agreed, if you are certain your brake pads and rotors are ok, hubs would be the next thing I'd check.

 

I agree on the hub. When there's slop in the bearings, it changes the gap in the wheel speed sensors which sets off the ABS light.
