08 Silverado suddenly died on highway and will not restart. Turn key, all lights activate, starter engages but engine will not turn over. Coincidentally, occasionally, truck will not shift from 2nd gear. When this happens, the odometer will not work either. I must put truck in park and shift to drive to get transmission to start shifting correctly again. Could these symptoms be related?? I researched and think failure to start is either fuel pump or fuel pump control module. The shifting issue I have no idea, but someone told me maybe just a sensor and not necessarily a transmission issue. Unfortunately, the truck is stuck over and hour from home and Im trying to just get it on road to a repair place without calling another tow truck. Please help!! Thanks
