2008 Silverado Leak
Hi all, I am having trouble where water is getting inside my cab on my 2008 when there is a decent amount of rain. It only shows up on the passenger side floorboard towards the door between right below where the floorboard starts angle up toward the firewall and just in front passenger seat; I've check all window, door and rear cab light seal areas and these areas do not appear to be the problem. Anyone have any thoughts what I need to check next? Thanks.
1. pull up the carpet/flooring and look for signs of moisture to point you to where it's trickling in from. Use your garden hose for troubleshooting.
2. Blast your air on full and use a spray bottle of soapy water on the outside to look for bubbles. (You'll have to find and seal up the vents that let air out of the cabin.) You might be able to hear whistling too. A smoke machine might help here.

I have a 2007 chevy, its just like yours. I was having the same promblem. looked every place i could find. It ened up being the right side rear air vent on the back of the cab. Installed a new one no more water.
Thanks very much; I will check them out. I did not know they were back there; Would you happen to have the part number for the vent you purchased?

No i do not. I just went to the dealer and gave them the vin. on truck and bought them. Just make sure you have the edges clean where they silp in the back. I would not recommend trying any sealer on them .they seal on there own very good.

Yes, the top seal of the old vent is split. I have changed it; It's raining here now; I will check for leaks when the rain stops. I could not resist putting sealant around the opening.
