Default 2009 Silverado Cruise control

My cruise doesn't always set when I try to set speed. Most of the time I can bump the brake pedal and it will set and work normal. Seems that when it is cool out or first thing in the morning it is worst. Looking at the brake pedal to see what is connected I can see a switch or that is what it appears to be. About midway up the brake pedal arm, would this be a brake switch that would cause this issue?

Thanks for any help
Ronnie J

It is your brake light switch. Easy and inexpensive fix

My 2011 did the same. Changed the brake light switch and it was fine after that
