When I push the button to shut off my truck I'm getting message on DIC Shift to Park and the lights stay. on as does the radio most times it stopped after a few minutes. Last night it didn't and this morning the battery was dead . what causes this and how can I fix it? This is on 2019 Silverado pick up

For me it took total failure of the problem to figure out how to get a fix. Shift to park persistence was over a year. Finally power steering failed. After googling the new problem I figured out it was a faulty ground wire under the passenger wheel well. Just Google power steering failure backup camera on and it will show you a few websites and YouTube videos on how to locate the corroded wire part. 16 dollar fix at that point. I take it you are in the salt belt, same as me. Problem solved no more shift to park error. Super easy to do at home.
