How do I find the oil leak near the filter
2003 Blazer
say my neighbor has an oil leak real bad in the area of the oil filter. i told him i suspect the oil line to the radiator. he claims he felt oil spurting out of the top area of the oil filter adapter housing. i had him take that off and we both checked it over and i did not see any cracks in that housing we turned it over to let some oif from the filter try to drain out into that cavity that is there and we did not see any oil. so my question is this. is that possible to be leaking? do they fail at all? i'm leaning on the parker o'rings failing and spraying oil up towards that area he had his hand at. also the lines in that area are rusted real well so i told him to clean them good and see if they look like they may have rusted thru or cracked.
but the main question is that oil filter housing i say it is a durable item and not prone if at all to leaking. if it is possible they can crack then i will let him know to get a new one or junk yard one. and maybe even the lines. and get new parker o'rings.
