Default Brake problem

Hi, my son has a 1994 Caprice Classic 4.3v8. He asked me to look at his brakes, said the pedal is going to the floor after he made a hard stop. I thought that after 20 years that he blew a brake line or something. He brought the car up and I looked at the master cylinder and there was fluid in both resivours. I had him start the car and apply the brakes while I looked under the car for fluid. There was no fluid leaking. What do you think the problem may be? Brake booster?

-is the pedal going deep all the time or is it intermittent?
-does the pedal come up a bit if pumped repeatedly?
-did the abs pump activate during the deep pedal?
-does the brake fluid rise up in the master cylinder when the pedal is slowly pushed and held down?
-did you inspect all the calipers and wheel cylinders?

I didn't check the things you mentioned. I won't have time to look at it till Friday but will check these items. The ABS light has been on for over a year so the ABS is inoperative.

If you have no leaks , first thought is one or more of the rubber seals , in the master cylinder , gave way & is letting fluid past them . Instead of pumping the fluid , as it should ?

If that is the case , either replace the master cylinder . Or , you used to be able to rebuild them . Probably would need a brake cylinder hone & electric drill motor . I used to have a hone , but no telling where it is now ?

I think there is also a pressure valve in the master cylinder , that holds pressure on the lines ?

God bless
