you measure the voltage drop after the load to the grounding point. power the circuit in question and put your meter lead after the load and the other on the grd point. should have less than 0.2volts reading on your meter.

but yes, post your concern. Hard to help when the problem is not known.

the concerned area is where the speed sensor is located the instrument cluster needle does the dashboard and then cuts out amd kills the car when the senior is hooked up

When the vechile speed sensor is connected the needle on the dashboard goes from 0-80 it free moves it doesnt move with the actual speed of the car and then it cuts out and dies

Is the car moving when this happens? Sounds like the speed sensor is at fault since those things are'nt adjustable, they just "fit" in. The other thing to add about grounds, Ohm meter with one side to battery ground, the other to "what area" you are wanting to check. There should be less than .3 ohms, that number will be bigger the further away you are from the battery, but not much.

One thing if you have an ohm meter, check both pins to ground, it should read either infinity, or a large resistance to ground, make sure the sensor is installed. Also check the sensor, that's both pins. You should have some resistance across the coil of the sensor, I don't know that value, guessing 25-200 ohms.

Yes the car moves 3 feet and then it cuts out and dies i dont know what type of sensor it is but im positive its to a 700r4 transmission i would like to replace the sensor and see if that helps
