2014 Captiva key stuck in the ACC position
#11
I'm here for the party
my father inlaw had a aveo that did the same thing but they had built in an override button near the shifter that you had to depress to get the key to unlock. upon taking the console apart it was found the "park" sensor was broken and had came loose from the housing. the car would think the car was still in gear and wouldnt allow you to turn the key to "off"

Key stuck in acc spot won't come out tried everything help!!
I have a 2014 and had this issue off and on. I took it to a friend who owns a shop. He said the shifter wiring harness is a common problem in GM products that causes this. He was able to take mine apart and move some wires and I haven't had the issues again. Mine does however turn the radio on randomly and kill my battery. Junk.

What did they do to fix it?
My friend’s Captiva is doing the same thing. Randomly draining the battery, she says the radio is turning on by itself and the keys aren’t in it. Any help would be most welcome, Melinda!
