my father inlaw had a aveo that did the same thing but they had built in an override button near the shifter that you had to depress to get the key to unlock. upon taking the console apart it was found the "park" sensor was broken and had came loose from the housing. the car would think the car was still in gear and wouldnt allow you to turn the key to "off"

Default Key stuck in acc spot won't come out tried everything help!!

Default Key stuck in ignition on acc can get it to turn further to get out. HELP

Help my key won't come out of ignition stuck on acc tried everything.

My friend’s Captiva is doing the same thing. Randomly draining the battery, she says the radio is turning on by itself and the keys aren’t in it. Any help would be most welcome, Melinda!
