Default Loud grinding noise when trying to start. Solution?

So heres the story, leaving work i went to start my car, it began to start but i let go of the key too soon so it started to die and i quickly (perhaps too quickly for everything to disengage and reset) turned the key again and the thing has been would make a very loud grinding sound like gears grinding. At the time i was kinda forced to just keep trying in spite of that noise and got it to start and i was hoping everything would be fine after that but i tried to start it last night and its just making the grinding sound and not turning over. I think i know what it is but Im hoping someone can confirm my suspicions.

I wonder if you munched teeth on starter, or worse, on flywheel.

Not a hard job to do actually if you have any experience mechanicing.

A transmission jack/motorcycle jack makes job super easy just unbolt housing to tranny underneath and leave all tranny bolts in their place and use jack to slide the tranny back a few inches so you can reach up there and unbolt flywheel. There's alot less mess than pulling motor out lot less to put bk in place!
