Default need help with limp mode please

Got a 2002chevy cavalier race car with 2.2 ohv engine and 5 speed trans. Car is stuck in limp mode and i can figure out why. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why? No check engine light and no codes. The onlything that happened right before is the power steering pump blew a hole in it.

Ok. Update lol. Ps pump did not have hole in it. Just blew off a line due to them cheap clamps. However did put original instrument cluster in it. 15 mph max!! I did remove the temp sending unit to put in a manual temp guage. Laid the wires to unit on top of valve cover and zip tied it. Any suggestions please?

Did someone remove the CEL light bulb?

Never had a gm go into limp mode on me... Have you tried an OBD II scanner?
Is the port even hooked up?

Thanks for getting back. Yes the check engine bulb is in. It was on for a few minutes couple days ago. Comes on with ignition turmed on also. Yes tgere is a port for an obd2 test still in place. The engine is still stock other than air filter. I put a new temp sending unit on. Had my buddy put his fantsy laptop equipment on it after i used a hand held scanner. He said everything read good all sensors were reading properly. No codes. Runs and idles smooth as silk just stops power at 15 mph. Stays steady there to, no miss or skip. Scratching my head on this one

I can jack the front wheels off the ground. The car will.get up to 60 mph and do ok. Put it baxck on ground and 15 mph is all, bout to sell it and walk away from racing.
