2011 chevrolet cruze radio problems
I have no radio and the screen lights up and flashes but goes black again. I tried replacing the ground wire to battery the fuse and also tried exchanging the screen portion the radio portion and the control portion with another cruze but that just gives me a locked message cuz chevy really wants to protect the pos radio ok lol those thiefs would be better off stealing pennies at a wishing fountain. I read so many others having this problem its common. I read i could get a eprom reader but I wonder is there any ground locations other than battery neg that could need to be cleaned to fix this radio problem or other fixes to try. Car also has a slow draw at same time which keep draining a good battery. Thank chevy again
I have 3 gm vehicles and all 3 have parasitic draws. I think I narrowed it down to fuse 17 for my slow draw on the cruze but I am not sure its related to my radio problem. I am buying a newer truck soon and have always been a chevy fan but I don't know anymore I need reliability.
Not really sure yet. I did replace the hvac control module and that seems to have stopped the large slow draw but I don't have the radio or its fuse installed either yet. Its cold out winter so I won't be for sure until warmer but I will update. There is tons of owners with this problem and most never post the remedy. Our other cruze now has a leaking engine oil cooler and gm wanted $2000 to replace and there is tons of ppl with that problem as well. The quality of gm parts designs these days is low.
i know my issue is my radio i bought a factory 9n used but its locked and the dealer wants 500 bucks to unlock it trying to find the eprom chip to reprogram it but no luck on locating it

My next car will be a honda they are simply more reliable. My honda atv has been impressive in 10 yrs of use gas and oil changes and $30 for starter brushes. My next truck will probably not be a gm product either from these poor experiences.
