Default Hub Bearing Bolts?

I took my car into the dealer yesterday for a noise issue. I was told that the front left hub bearing bolts were making noise at the spindles and needed to be retorqued so that they don't hit the axle clamp. I asked how something like that could have happened, and was told that there may have been a time the hub bearing had been worked on or removed. I have had this car for like 3 years, and never had anything like that worked on. The noise just started a few weeks ago. Anyone have any other thoughts on how could have happened?

Don't trust anything a service manager says. That's been the since I was young. You can torque them down yourself, actually. It's just a lot of BS as quality control has gone away, particularly in a Mexican manufactured Cruze.

It's not like US-made Chevrolet's, or other US manufacturers don't have issues. When I bought my new 1970's AMC Jeep CJ-5 the fuel gauge went kaput and I ran out of gas.

We didn't have cellphones back then, but I went to a house near me and used their phone to get it towed, on the warranty of course. Never had an issue with the fuel gauge since then and when I sold it.

These days its par for the course with all this Chinese-made junk, soon to be made in Vietnam, the country I was damn near sent to fight and die in during the war with them. I won't buy any stuff/junk made in Vietnam, if I know about it.
