2011 equinox turn key and all it does is winds up gets stuck doing that and it won't try to turn over or anything

 

"winds up gets stuck doing that" Not clear on what that means.

 

I would guess that there is not enough voltage to the relay and or the starter motor. Check the battery voltage for how much it drops when trying to start the engine. Batteries are good for 3-4 years and if yours is older than that it is due for a change anyway.

 

Have you tried getting a "jump" from another battery or anything else?

 

Check if there is a GPS installed and unplug it. Sometimes occurred those symptoms if there's a GPS integrated!!
