Default 1 Ton (3500) Coil Springs

I've owned two one ton Express vans and they have coil springs. The only Chevrolet trucks / vans that I've seen that use leaf springs on the front have 4WD. I saw a 1985 Chevy G van that had a 6.2 liter diesel and had an aftermarket 4WD system installed. The aftermarket system used a solid front axil and leaf springs. It looked just like the 4WD on the trucks and Suburbans. I have no idea if GM ever put factory installed 4WD, does anybody know?

There was a 2500 awd Express van, but it has been discontinued. I think I remember seeing an old G van with factory awd.. might of been on ebay. Both had front coils.


Maybe the 4500 models use the torsion bars?
