Default 1990 G20 fuel problems

Howdy Forum,

Just picked up this beauty (Sorry no picture yet, can't figure out how to add one from my phone). 90' G20 350 with 160,000 on her. Not bad for only $500 It's currently not running however I am not getting fuel to the injectors due to the fuel pump not priming. I have replaced the fuel pump relay and the pump with a new sock. I hope I didn't mess up the sending unit because I do not want to have to drop the tank again. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

i would start from scratch

1st are you hearing the pump run before starting.

2nd did you replace the fuel filter?

3rd i would use a little starting fluid just to make sure it will fire off

1) yes I am hearing the pump run now. I used a jumper cable from the battery to the manual fp prime pigtail off of the relay. But now I do not need to use that anymore.

2) fuel filter has been replaced as well

3) I used a little gas to get it to fire and it ran for a second.

Now the problem is that when I turn the key to position 2, the left injector pours gas and the right injector is dry. Would this be a pressure problem or an clogged injector? Or something completely different.

i am not sure if ya can but i would try swaping the injectors or / replace the one to see if its a bad injector or the ECM is not sending a pulse to the injector

I pulled the injectors yesterday and saw that the one injector that was dripping gas had a busted o-ring and the one that wasn't spraying had a good ring. I ordered a gasket kit that comes with new rings that should be in on Monday (should of been in today but the lady at the store forgot to order it before 5).

I hope the new rings will get 'er going

Hi Fly_Like-a-G20,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

IIRC, you need to bleed the injector rails and fuel line when

you disconnect anything in the system.

Try a Chevy Forums Silverado thread search, and Google.

I certainly am no FI expert.

Replaced the o-rings and strainers on both injectors and replaced most of the gaskets on the Throttle Body. Tried to start it to see if that solved it... both injectors sprayed (WAHOO) but the battery was too low on juice. After charging the battery for an hour (killed the time by helping a buddy install a motor in his VW bus), it started right up!

I was stoked that I didnt have to spend the money to replace the injectors or to get them cleaned. I have had it running with no problems since then.
