Default How do I bypass the ignition switch

Hi, I have a 2005 chevy express I am updating and turning into my work vehicle. On my old jeeps with nontransponder keys I can just run a multichannel wireless relay to the relays I charge of all the components on the ignition switch. Is this the same for my express? All the information I'm finding about bypassing the ignition switch is either for a transponder key or simply hooking up a starter button. I would like to remove the need for the key entirely as its just not necessary for what I'll be doing or where the vehicle will be.

You cannot. The ECM won't run without with a transponder code and the injectors won't even operate. Probably not worth the hassle and easier to just keep the key in the ignition.

You misunderstood, my van currently and never has needed a transponder key. It uses a solid metal generic key to start the vehicle. Has been like that since day one from the factory.

all GM vehicles shipped with PASSLOCK. It wasn't an option.

Is there a plus inside a circle on your key near where the metal meets the plastic?

There's no plastic at all. Just a plain metal two sided key.

If you think I'm going to explain to you how to defeat a GM anti-theft system on Chevy forum full of other Chevrolet car owners, then give your head a shake. Use your key.
