1985 5.7 v8 smoke black. Any guesses?

Got black smoke from tail pipe.

Tap on the carb with a soft hammer lightly. Float is probably stuck.

Is any spray, gas cleaners gonna help or any other way at all? Kinda scared hammering on carb.

TAP on the carb with the handle of a screwdriver or soft hammer. I suspect the float is stuck, other than taking the top off, that's the short solution.

choke stuck , float struck open-dropped filling the carb with fuel, not sure if that vehicle has a purge valve if diaphragm is torn it will pull fuel from the carb.

I think there is purge valve on diagram on air cleaner.
