The trans mount disconnect is the easiest. If is original mount, would now be a great time to replace. No telling what you will have to do to find plug but can get at a dealer for sure but your tech at the shop may have a source. As much as you have tried to remove the plug, I would just replace the pan.

In answer to @mountainmanjoe, the side drain plug would still be exposed. I have seen plugs on the side of a pan but when you try to get the plug lower on the pan for more fluid removal, you get close to the rolled steel area and then you can have problems with the plug seal.

Thanks guys! I decided to just buy a new pan with plug. I searched around, and really wanted to buy the A/C Delco pan, but I couldn't find one with a drain plug. So, I ended up going with a Dorman pan from Advance Auto. I got it for like $25 after getting 20% off and using a $10 speed perks! I don't want to offend the guy who's going to work on my truck soon, but I will try to politely let him know some of your suggestions on getting that damn pan out. Hopefully, it'll help keep my transmission and truck on the road for years to come. Thanks again everyone for all your time and help!

You need to make sure that you get the correct pan depth. The deep pan, like I had, has a taller filter and the shorter pan has a shorter filter. They are not interchangeable. Measure the old pan and check the same measurements on the new pan and make sure the filter matches as well.

Yep, great example pics and the deep pan with the step looks like my old 2002 Tahoe pan.

Hey guys, Thanks for the additional help and info! So, I called both A/C Delco who made the AT fluid filter kit, and Advance Auto, and they both are saying that these parts are OE replacement parts, so they should be compatible with one another, and my truck. Again, I made the decision to just replace the whole pan, so I just need to be sure that the filter I bought will fit the pan correctly. After looking at the specs, I'm still not 100% sure!
The new Dorman pan says the depth is 3" which is 76.2 mm.
The A/C Delco filter "Exact Fit for your 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500; Auto Trans Filter Kit; Professional; 4 Speed Automatic Transmission; 4L60-E Trans.; USED W/DEEP PAN 76.6MMProfessional; 4 Speed Automatic Transmission; 4L60-E Trans.; USED W/DEEP PAN 76.6MM"

The new Dorman pan doesn't say anything about being deep, and the A/C Delco filter does. WTF! It appears that there is a .4mm of a difference with the filter being advertised as slightly deeper.

Here's the exact links of each, and what they look like, https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...811/15680134-P, https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...576/11680322-P

I guess I should of just bought the pan and filter from the same manufacturer. This is ridiculous!

Yep, but is it the correct filter for the new Dorman pan I purchased?
