Spacer welded to the drop bracket between the bracket and the piston, or a stack of threaded nuts welded together to act as a spacer? Then use a 2" thick drop bracket with gusset style reinforcement to prevent bending?

How bout repositioning the drop bracket to the outer tie rod?

Would that work?

I had given up on the bracket idea, but just to be certain - I just went out and removed the inner tie rod boots, and then turned the wheel hard over in both directions. I might have an aftermarket rack or something, but on my rig - the rack pistons do not go into the rack tube. So I should be able to use the bracket idea without limiting the steering. Thoughts?

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I’m not sure on the mods - I just know how these systems are supposed to work (meaning with a factory setup) and have very limited experience with lifts in general, let alone those requiring the level of modification that you’re seeking.

At a fundamental level, the mods you’re thinking of will work in theory - however I think you’ll find that what seems like a simple solution is often more difficult to achieve than one would expect. Steering & suspension is designed to work while under the force of thousands of pounds per square inch that’s been focused into a few key points throughout the system. Symmetry & accurate Geometry is key to keeping it functional & safe.

This is a situation where you’ll have to start trying your ideas and see how they work.

The only advice I have left to give is be careful and make safe decisions.

Good luck.
