Ok guys, 1 quick question. I was out there yesterday just foolling around wiping the accesible parts down. I pulled the air filter, of course it is as black as the tires, but when I went to put the bottom cover on, I noticed it sat on top of my plug wires that connect to the distributor cap. About a good inch or more. Is that normal? Should that be way? I will get another pic up, and also the dimensions on the filter to determine filter number to replace. Just figured I would drop this out while I was thinking about it.

thanks
JJ

Also, the dimensions on the filter are 13 3/4" outside diameter and roughly 3 7/8" tall. Should it be that big?

Also, when I called about the filter, my sales guy told me he would need to know the make of what it came out of being that all the models that shared the engine had diffrerent air filters. Is there a way to determine that?

thanks again

I would just rotate that plug wire boot so the filter does not sit on it. Dont most part stores have an aisle for 350 accessories?

OK. I ran a compression test today. well, I did it, so i am not sure how close I am. But, it ranged from 135 to 150. Keep in mind, I had never done this.

As soon as it quits raining, I am gonna go get some plugs, wires, etc.

Any suggestions on what I should do next? Other than a tune-up, I am lost.

Where can I find the compression ranges for the engine I have. My casting code is 3970014. But I can't seem to find anything related to what I am looking for.

thanks
JJ
