Default Remote starter does NOT work

My 2006 Chevy uplander came with a remote starter.
It worked, until I changed the battery. Now when I push the remote starter it triggers the alarm.
any suggestions.
Thank you

I know this won't help now but in the future hooking up a trickle charger to the battery cables prior to removing the battery will prevent the loss of control module data and will also keep your clock set!

aftermarket or factory remote starter?
sounds like the bypass module needs to be reprogrammed

there is no bypass if it is a factory remote start.
do both the remotes set the alarm off?
or just the one you changed the battery on?

sounds like possibly a bad remote. the start button could be sending a panic signal.
