It's a little hard to stay objective when AMSOIL's filters are such a blatant ripoff, but final results on the oil itself may take a while.

Losing three quarts of oil the first day, I was panicking a little, thinking:" 24000 miles? This oil won't even go 24 miles!"
At first I thought the oil had started some kind of leak in the engine. And yeah, it's a sh!tty gimmick they use to stick you for three extra quarts,(or however many you happen to lose before you're aware of their crappy filters)but the more important issue here is the question of synthetic oil longevity vs. standard brands.

I'll be posting the results in the Silverado section when the time comes.

I have always used mobile 1 before and would get about 8,000 out of it. I am still in the first round of the RP, I am checking it once a week now, it does have a hint of use to it but still clear. I am predicting it will be dirty within the next few thousand miles. It all depends on how worn your motor is and how you drive with the carbon that passes the rings into the oil, at least thats that way I look at it.

I never seem to loose any oil, not that I have noticed. If any maybe a 1/4 quart. With the RP , its still at the level when I put it in.

I have never had a complaint about Mobil 1 oil. To me all the top synthetics are pretty equivelant , some seem more popular than others & a few stand out, I guess its all just ones opinion.

O yea, With my RP in my motor now, I did change out the filter 8,000 mi and added about a half quart to make up for the oil that was in the filter. I use the K&N filters
